The Legendary.......

....Lee "Scratch" Perry [filmed here in Belgium in 2006 by Tangent Phillips], I saw this last week, then I saw this:

LEE "SCRATCH" PERRY

Live at the Jazz Cafe

Friday 11th, Saturday 12th & Sunday 13th January

doors 7pm

£22.50 (Fri & Sun) advance
£25 (Sat) advance

Regarded with awe throughout the music world, Lee 'Scratch' Perry holds status as one of the most enduring and original reggae producers and artists of all time.

From his early days in the 1960’s as a singer and engineer for Coxsone Dodd’s Studio One in Kingston, through his production of the seminal Wailers’ classics, African Herbsman and Soul Revolution, Perry’s innovative style marks him as one of reggae’s original treasures.

His on the edge creative genius remains evident in his own solo albums of the 1970s and through his steady stream of mind-boggling releases of the 1980s.
One of reggae’s undisputed pioneers, Lee 'the Upsetter' Perry has worked with almost everyone from The Heptones to The Skatalites to The Clash.
Certainly one of his most notable contributions was the pairing of Bob Marley to Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer with the Barnet Brothers (Carley and 'Familyman' who had been the heart of the Perry’s group, The Upsetters) and thus the forming of the Bob Marley and the Wailers.

After his own studio, Black Ark, burned to the ground in the late 1970’s, Perry laid low for a while, only to resurface with a vengeance in England in the mid-1980s. He went back into the studio with a variety of partners, from Adrian Sherwood, Mad Professor to Terence Trent D’Arby. Lee has embarked on many tours with Mad Professor & The Robotiks. They have played all over Europe, Japan, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, Argentina, Mexico.

Perry is perhaps the only 70 year old that can dance on one leg for one hour straight!

70's Soho Graffiti Discovered

Fab 5 Freddy and Futura 2000 — who helped pioneer graffiti as an art form by spray-painting entire subway trains in psychedelic colors — figure prominently on the wall. There's also writing believed to belong to Jean Michel Basquiat. The stylistic words "Dead or Alive" strongly suggest that it is the late artist's work. His tag, "SAMO," appears in the stairwell of the building.

CANNA DRINK

So this was brought to my attention last night (ThankYou Mr Montana). The drinks above have now been pulled from the shelves for Breaking Marketing Rules. The quote from the Portman Group reads, ' Too Many Young Adults these days regard alcohol & illicit drugs as Interchangeable. The industry must not Contribute to this attitude.'

So it is ok in Spain & elsewhere to sell these drinks but here, in this ever growing 'Big Brother' Police State it is not permitted as we do not like it. What ever happened to Freedom of Choice, or are young adults seen as no way capable of making decisions for themselves, & we the governing minority know whats best for all of you.

I think it comes down to Money & the fact that The Portman Group are sure that these Drinks will be rather Popular & they might lose out financially. Also that they want their Legal Drug ALCOHOL to be the POISON of Choice. It is like alternative Energy Solutions, the answers are there, but Shell & BP will not invest as it does not help their Bottom Line right now.

May I also point out that more people die every year from Alcohol Abuse than any other Drug on the planet.

Be Well
p.s. would still like to try that Cannabis & Vodka...2 of my friendliest Poisons.

GOODBYE MR SHAZER
