70's Soho Graffiti Discovered

Fab 5 Freddy and Futura 2000 — who helped pioneer graffiti as an art form by spray-painting entire subway trains in psychedelic colors — figure prominently on the wall. There's also writing believed to belong to Jean Michel Basquiat. The stylistic words "Dead or Alive" strongly suggest that it is the late artist's work. His tag, "SAMO," appears in the stairwell of the building.

Friends for Life

Be Well

So this was brought to my attention last night (ThankYou Mr Montana). The drinks above have now been pulled from the shelves for Breaking Marketing Rules. The quote from the Portman Group reads, ' Too Many Young Adults these days regard alcohol & illicit drugs as Interchangeable. The industry must not Contribute to this attitude.'

So it is ok in Spain & elsewhere to sell these drinks but here, in this ever growing 'Big Brother' Police State it is not permitted as we do not like it. What ever happened to Freedom of Choice, or are young adults seen as no way capable of making decisions for themselves, & we the governing minority know whats best for all of you.

I think it comes down to Money & the fact that The Portman Group are sure that these Drinks will be rather Popular & they might lose out financially. Also that they want their Legal Drug ALCOHOL to be the POISON of Choice. It is like alternative Energy Solutions, the answers are there, but Shell & BP will not invest as it does not help their Bottom Line right now.

May I also point out that more people die every year from Alcohol Abuse than any other Drug on the planet.

Be Well
p.s. would still like to try that Cannabis & Vodka...2 of my friendliest Poisons.

Yes Mr Shazer is moving to Paris, to set up a studio with SEEN.

Change is always good.

Amos YOD The Second Coming

Yes Siree, the new illustated version of the YOD and James Jarvis' ‘Selected Drawings’ book will be with us next week, fingers crossed, but only a very limited number will be available.

As soon as it comes in I'll let you know, watch this space....

‘Selected Drawings’ by James Jarvis is a 240 page perfect bound collection of some of the illustrator’s favourite drawings from 2001 to 2007. Lovingly compiled by Jarvis himself, the volume includes personal work and artwork created while making commercial illustrations, comic strips, t-shirt graphics and toys. ‘Selected Drawings’ is an intriguing insight into the process between the formulation of an idea, and the realisation of the idea in physical form.

To accompany ‘Selected Drawings’, Amos Toys will release three new soft vinyl YOD figures, each decorated with a different set of illustrations taken from the James Jarvis book. The theme for the illustrations is based on Jarvis’ drawings of mythical beasts. YOD is the result of a convergence of academic and design theory, resulting in the creation of a real designer art toy. It is born of proportions based on ancient Mathematical formulae, and exists in conditions derived directly from the thinking of great modern philosophers. YOD was first released in early October 2007 and sold out almost instantly.

This look is so Autumn/Winter '07. Now that the nights are drawing in and the temperature's falling, body hair looks set to be the fashion statement of choice for hipsters who are feeling the cold.
