Amos YOD The Second Coming

Yes Siree, the new illustated version of the YOD and James Jarvis' ‘Selected Drawings’ book will be with us next week, fingers crossed, but only a very limited number will be available.

As soon as it comes in I'll let you know, watch this space....

‘Selected Drawings’ by James Jarvis is a 240 page perfect bound collection of some of the illustrator’s favourite drawings from 2001 to 2007. Lovingly compiled by Jarvis himself, the volume includes personal work and artwork created while making commercial illustrations, comic strips, t-shirt graphics and toys. ‘Selected Drawings’ is an intriguing insight into the process between the formulation of an idea, and the realisation of the idea in physical form.

To accompany ‘Selected Drawings’, Amos Toys will release three new soft vinyl YOD figures, each decorated with a different set of illustrations taken from the James Jarvis book. The theme for the illustrations is based on Jarvis’ drawings of mythical beasts. YOD is the result of a convergence of academic and design theory, resulting in the creation of a real designer art toy. It is born of proportions based on ancient Mathematical formulae, and exists in conditions derived directly from the thinking of great modern philosophers. YOD was first released in early October 2007 and sold out almost instantly.

This look is so Autumn/Winter '07. Now that the nights are drawing in and the temperature's falling, body hair looks set to be the fashion statement of choice for hipsters who are feeling the cold.

Chateau Roux to be exact.

This the company that is going to step into the old Newburgh Street shop.

Never heard of them, & I hope they last 20 years on the street...yeah right. With the Commercial Landlords that control the area & their beloved Speculative Bottom Line, that must increase according to their schedule & not what the market dictates.

Well I wish them luck, 'cause if they are relying on passing trade, it may not cut it.

You see people came to Newburgh Street to the Pub &, I will say it, to mostly see Bond.

From everyone I speak to, the street is dead & no one really passes like they used to.

A lady today stopped me in the street and asked me, 'Do you know where Bond is ?'

I will have an answer very soon.

Be Well.

WHO & WHAT... going to be the next victim ?

Some one is in there checking things out. Hope they have deep pockets to meet the expected bottom line of the Landlords.

I would hate to see someone like FCUK opening up, but it is going to be some Store Group, as they are the only people who have the bank roll.

So continues the slow demise of the Independent. Slowly & Sadly every street will look the same with all the same stores.

Sad isn't it.

Be Well.
